Car Reservations & Bookings

How do I rent a car with Thor Rentals?

Can I contact the car owner before booking?

• Yes, you can send a message to the owner via Thor Rentals before submitting a reservation request.

What is the Car Rental Agreement?

What is the Car Returning Document?

• This document is completed when returning the vehicle, outlining the car’s condition, including any scratches, dents, or fuel levels. We highly recommend taking pictures of the car before and after the rental period to avoid disputes.

Do I need to print the Car Rental Agreement?

• Although it is the owner’s responsibility to provide a printed agreement, we highly recommend bringing a copy to document the car’s condition upon pickup and return.

Pick-Up & Drop-Off

Where do I pick up the car?

• Each listing provides details about the pickup location, often linked to Google Maps. You may also arrange a different pickup location with the owner.

What should I bring when picking up the car?

• You must bring your booking reference number and a valid driver’s license.

Can someone else drive the car?

• Yes, travel partners may drive the vehicle if they meet Thor Rentals’ requirements. However, you remain responsible for the car.

• Report all damages, scratches, or dents in the Car Rental Agreement before driving the vehicle. Failure to do so may result in you being held responsible for existing damage. We also recommend taking pictures before and after the rental period.

Am I responsible for damages during my rental period?

• Yes. If damage occurs, the repair costs should be documented in the Car Returning Document. If an agreement on repair costs cannot be reached, an auto repair shop evaluation may be required.

What happens if the car breaks down or is in an accident?

• In case of an accident or breakdown, that is caused by the renter or as a result of his use, the renter is responsible for any transportation costs incurred. Depending of the nature of the breakdown, determines how is responsible for the repairs. For example engine malfunction, due to no fault of the renter, would be owners responsibility to repair. If a replacement vehicle is available, the owner may provide one at their discretion.

Payments

• Thor Rentals does not provide additional insurance. Renters and owners must rely on their personal car insurance policies. It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to ensure their insurance covers rentals, and renters should confirm that they meet the insurance requirements before booking.

What is the renter’s liability in case of damage?

• Since insurance is based on the owner’s personal policy, any liability or costs due to damage will be handled in accordance with the owner’s insurance terms.
